Therapeutic massage is based on classical massage techniques. There are many techniques, but they all involve applying systematic strokes, rubbing, pressure, kneading or firm clapping to the skin, muscles or joints.

The purpose of a therapeutic massage is to increase blood flow to the area of the body being treated, which undoubtedly influences its oxygenation, nutrition and thus accelerates the course of treatment.

It can be performed on any part of the body affected by a dysfunction. Therapeutic massage is an excellent supplement of the therapy conducted, e.g. in the course of discopathy. For people working long hours in forced or sitting positions, it is worthwhile to use the massage as prevention of overloading the spine joints.

Most often, therapeutic massage concerns back pain and covers the whole back. Thanks to the therapeutic massage, it is possible to relieve the patient from the symptoms by breaking the so-called circle of pain and tension. However, it is important to remember that massage does not cure the cause of the problem, if it is e.g. discopathy. It is, however, an excellent complement to manual therapy of the spine.

We apply therapeutic massage :

- in combating muscle tension (also in neurological patients)

- to relieve stiffness, tension and muscle pain

- for pain relief after physical exertion,

- for the reduction of migraine and tension headaches and lumbosacral pain,

- for general relaxation,

- for overcoming stress.

Therapeutic massage can also remove leg cramps. Massaging the back and shoulders helps women with labour pains.

Typically, a therapeutic massage involves relaxing muscles and relieving mental tension, and this brings relief and a feeling of relaxation.
